I’ve been trading equity options for some thirty years and have learned much along the way as described in detail below in my post from December of 2020.
Aside from these tips, one analogy for new options traders is a comparison using Mother Nature and the sport of Surfing which I love. Simply stated; when the ocean is calm, nobody paddles out to catch a wave. But when there is one wave worth surfing, there will be hundreds to follow. Waves represent volatility. Without waves, there is no point in trading options. With volatility (waves), it’s time to paddle out there and surf, surf, surf . . . trade, trade, trade!
